SF Opera
My wife & I attending the San Francisco Opera’s performance of La Boheme.
We took the BART train up to Civic Center, and took the short walk to the venue, next to San Francisco City Hall.
Ascending the staircase of the venue yielded some pretty sights of the building architecture:
The theater was pretty inside too:
The seating was very compact/crammed–I am a short person and my feet were touching the seat in front of me:
Some socializing and chit-chatting before the event:
The performance was all in Italian, with subtitles projected above the stage:
We got an intermission and stepped onto a balcony with an incredible view of San Francisco City Hall across the street:
After the show, we walked through an entranceway with interesting decor and out onto the street:
I was surprised to see several concertgoers had biked to the venue and locked up outside for several hours–trusting folks!
I’m happy to see no theft–maybe we will bring our bikes next time (though realistically we do not have to travel far from the train station).
Interesting cultural experience, not a priority to go again so soon.
