Jadrolinja Ferry 🚢
My wife & I had the good fortune of traveling to Europe this past summer, including to Croatia & Italy.
Our itinerary for our trip included the opportunity to avoid a plane flight and take a boat ride instead.
We embarked by ferry from Split, Croatia & arrived in Ancona, Italy–for a trip totaling ~7 hours.
We began our day of international travel by walking from our lodgings to the ferry terminal in Split:

After obtaining information on the boarding process, we sat down for a little picnic across the road:

It is disgusting how many cigarettes people smoke & how much litter it generates:

With a full breakfast, we boarded the boat on time–alongside a queue of cars:

We booked a room with beds, even though this was a day-time trip:

Bathrooms were communal, no frills:

The view as we pulled out of harbor:

The rest of the journey would be on the Adriatic Sea–just water in all directions.
So we soaked in our surroundings before leaving the Croatian coastline.
A lot of construction was underway on the waterfront of Split–can you count the number of cranes?

The boat’s interior had an entertainment area on the top floor:

This cost 11€!

After a lot of book-reading and a nap, we caught sight of the Italian coastline:

Pulling into the port of Ancona, we walked to our hotel and caught the sunset:
